NACOGDOCHES, Texas — East Texas Community Health Services, Inc. (ETCHSI), a Federally Qualified Community Health Center serving more than 13,000 people each year across East Texas, is expanding its commitment to accessible, comprehensive healthcare with the opening of a new full-service pharmacy.
Located at ETCHSI’s Eastside Clinic at 1309 South University Drive in Nacogdoches, the expanded pharmacy will allow ETCHS patients to receive their prescriptions as part of their visit, creating a more convenient connection between their healthcare provider and pharmacy team.
For many patients, receiving a prescription is only one step in getting the treatment they need. Transportation challenges, medication costs, insurance issues and the need to make an additional stop at an outside pharmacy can all create barriers between a patient and their medication.
By bringing pharmacy services directly into the health center, ETCHSI is working to remove some of those barriers and make it easier for patients to receive the medications and support they need.

More Convenient, Coordinated Pharmacy Care
The new pharmacy is designed to work closely with ETCHSI’s healthcare providers, helping create a more connected experience for patients from the exam room to the pharmacy counter.
Pharmacy services will include:
- Same-day prescription fills for greater convenience
- One-on-one medication counseling and support from pharmacy staff
- Assistance with insurance questions, prior authorizations and medication costs
- Coordination with healthcare providers regarding medications, potential interactions and patient safety

The pharmacy will provide benefits that extend beyond convenience for individual patients.
When eligible prescriptions are filled through ETCHSI’s pharmacy, resources generated through the pharmacy program can be reinvested into patient care and the health center’s broader mission.
